Gia Bartolome
Hello! I'm Gia
Welcome to my portfolio. I graduated from the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at California State University San Marcos in December 2023. Additionally, I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Cal Poly, Pomona and Master of Urban and Regional Planning Degree from UC Irvine. Earlier on during my studies in biology and through volunteer work in the hospital, I became interested in a health career. Owning a vocational health care career training school inspired me to revisit this aspiration and my interest in nursing. A solid foundation in science balanced by my experiences working as an Urban Planner and business owner have helped me to develop professional skills of teamwork, communication with clients, and organization of tasks and time. I enjoy new challenges and seeking deeper knowledge through self-directed and formal learning. Highlights of specialty clinical experiences include rotations in the ICU, DOU, pediatric ED, PICU, population health, and school nursing. In my last semester, I gained valuable internship experience in the Emergency Department, where I had the opportunity to practice my technical and critical thinking skills while demonstrating calm, compassionate care in a fast-paced, high pressure setting. My goal as a nurse is to provide high-quality, evidence-based care centered on the patient and family with particular interest in treating vulnerable populations. Please scroll on to learn more about my qualifications.
